White or Black Magick?

White magick is good, black magick is evil. Really? I don’t know who decided that magick should be defined by the terms white or black, but do have to think it may have been someone employing the craft to get something they wanted and then feeling guilty for doing it.

There is no such thing as white or black magick. Magick is magick. Magick doesn’t care what intention the user has. It works the same way for anyone employing its power. Some practitioners might have purer reasons than others, but it isn’t the magick that’s good or not so good. That onus is on the one using it.

The one catalyst that effectuates results in magick is will. Intention will see results if the will is strong enough.

There’s an interesting consequence of designating magical practices either white or black. The usual tools of rituals and spells have become biased also. Historically, candles, crystals, herbs, pentagrams, stones, and the like are part of the spell-casting process. Now, if black candles are used they must mean one is invoking negativity or the devil. Only white candles are a symbol of purity. And one should make sure to only use the favored herbs and stones of those on the so called white side.

And pentagrams! One of the first thoughts that comes to the minds of most is that the pentacle represents Satan. Wiccans will point out that the use of the five-sided star is fine as long as it has only one point upright. Otherwise, two points up would indicate the horns of the evil one. My question is, Why? Horns have always symbolized wisdom.

Pentacles have become one of the most maligned symbols in use today. They once were considered sacred. The Catholic church was one of the first to use them as such. Pentagrams are interesting and far from representing the Prince of Darkness.

The pentagram is known as a star polygon and ultimately it’s measurements equal 1.618 or phi, which also equals the Golden Ratio. The Golden Ratio is a line that is divided into two parts.  The long part divided by he short part equals the entire length divided by the long part. 

The Fibonacci Sequence will also converge on the Golden Ratio. In the Fibonacci Sequence, which is 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc., each number is the sum of the two previous numbers.

While these two functions seem diverse, the Fibonacci Sequence will converge on the Golden Ratio – it will produce 1.618.

The Golden Ratio is also called the Divine Proportion. It is ubiquitous in nature and also found in science, the arts, and mathematics. The idea of associating the pentagram with Satan lacks reason and rests only on a manufactured paradigm.

Over years, Hollywood and other media, and some religious groups have portrayed magick, witchcraft, meditation tools such as tarot and astrology, paranormal occurrences, and other like interests, something to be wary of and basically evil. There’s still a lot of interest in these things though, as evidenced by the many tv shows and movies on them available to the public every day. The problem with a lot of these programs is they generally adhere to the idle belief that pentagrams, black candles, ouija boards, people getting three scratches, etc. prove something evil is happening. Again, according to whom? Where do these tenets come from? Probably the same people or organizations that attempt to manipulate and control people into conforming to their own belief systems.

I am not saying that dark things don’t occur. They can and do at times. But bad things can happen with bouquets of pretty flowers, white clothing, and hearts and smiley faces, just as easily as not.

Tools of both ritual and spell work hold neither good nor evil energy within themselves. The energy that infuses them is the energy coming from the person / persons using them. White isn’t pure, black isn’t evil, and pentagrams are mathematically interesting.

Tarot as a Great Life Tool

Tarot readings are most often thought about as a prognostication of coming events in one’s life.  They are something you get from a seer or fortune teller to find out what’s in store for you.  But, I don’t think that approach is a practical one.  Nothing is written in stone and if you can change one thing the outcome can be much different.  The question is –   what do you change?  and – how do you know?  That’s the time for a tarot reading.  It’s a tool to help you discover the different energies going on around you so you can know better what to do.

A tarot deck resembles life in its cards –  Wands, Cups, Swords, Discs.   Wands stand for the intellect, ideas, considerations, and anything of a fire nature.  Cups are water related and represent our emotional selves.  Swords are our troubles, tribulations, difficulties, and anything of an air nature.  And, Discs are of the earth and symbolize the material world – stuff and things.

There are many components to a tarot deck that all have meaning in a reading.  They are full of symbols that shed light on the condition or situation at hand.  The suit is important, but so is the imagery, color, number, planetary attributes, element, and the relationship of the cards surrounding one another.  The Major Arcana and Court Cards interplay with the four suits and are also important in determining all the ingredients of the final analysis of the layout.

Another vital aspect of a reading is found by determining what suit or suits are most important to you in the way you see yourself or feel about your present situation.  If you know and understand the suits that mean the most to you,  those suits will give more extra meaning to a reading.  Seeing where your suits are located in a layout and knowing what surrounds you and how it affects you are important tools at your disposal.

Discovering your options and understanding a good course of action to achieve your goals is invaluable in making the decisions that are most beneficial in your life.  By knowing the things that oppose you, you can meet them head-on, challenges are mitigated and success is more readily achieved.  So, as said earlier, a tarot reading is a good life tool to show you how to reach your goals and point out the pitfalls to avoid.  It isn’t something that tells you what you’re stuck with and what has befallen you.  Change one thing and everything else changes with it.

Unanswered Questions

I was doing a tarot reading for an acquaintance of a work friend for the first time. I have read the cards for friends and family for several years now. This reading started out
as usual, but when it was over something new to me occurred.

A thought kept coming to me, “ask her if she knows [this person]”. I ignored it at first, but the voice-thought kept coming back. I eventually asked her and found out it was her
dead brother. She then told me this had happened once before when seeing a psychic. She said that he is always letting her know he is with her by seeing him in her dreams.

She then said she wished she could hear from her dead husband, but never had. Then his name came to me. I told her and she was excited, he proved who he was to her satisfaction
by bringing up things from their life together. She said she had one question that she always wanted-needed to know and that was the one thing that never came through.

I have since been told by an established medium that not getting an answer to a question is sometimes the answer. It could be that the spirit didn’t have an answer, or that the
asker needed to find out for themselves. I, too, believe that there are sometimes lessons to be learned that the asker will have to find out alone.

A thought on this site:  We attempt to address all paranormal issues not limited to any one area.  We love ghosts, of course, who doesn’t?  UFO’s are also great, but there are so many other issues that can be addressed and we don’t want to limit experiences on just a few of the most common forms of the unusual….That being said, we’d like to talk about Ouija boards, ESP, teleportation, clairvoyance, clairaudience, telemetry, astrology, tarot, automatic writing, stargates, synchronicity, heightened states of awareness, near-death experiences, déjà vu awareness, time shifts, karmic reactions and anything else that interests you!!

 

Ever just feel foreboding and wonder what it is or where it comes from?  Ever decide not to do something and then find out that it was a good thing you changed your mind?  Ever heard a voice telling you something and then decided it just couldn’t be so?  Ever feel you shouldn’t have done something you didn’t think you should have pursued before you went ahead and did it?

 

Have you seen something in the sky authorities won’t validate?  ….Do you catch something out of the corner of your eye that just cannot be there?  …Has something gone missing for weeks before it turns up again where you should have been able to see it right after losing it?  Do you ‘know’ something before it’s proved to be true?

 

The paranormal is not spooky – it’s the normal that we’ve been conditioned to ignore and a natural ability we’ve been discouraged to explore.  Society has been set-up to curtail normal abilities that the Creator gave freely, but certain individuals in power have always attempted to take away from the people.  Freedom is more than political and freedom of the mind can never be taken away or mitigated by anyone.  Learn how to reconnect and soar to individual aspirational rewards.
