Sacred Number 12 – Paranormal Synchronicy

In 2003 a theory was hypothesized, with substantial foundation, that the universe is a dodecahedron. Dodecahedrons are 12-sided structures and are based on the theory of phi. Therefore, we have a universe shaped by 12 sides. Each side is shaped in the form of a pentagon. Yes, pentagrams. for those afraid of them for whatever erroneous reasons. If this is so, then it makes a lot of sense that the ancients considered 12 as an important sacred number. There’s a lot of evidence for that thought in all aspects of life. In Christianity Jesus had 12 deciples, in Judaism there are 12 Tribes, in Islam there are 12 Imams, and in some pagan religions there are 12 Titans and 12 Olympians.

In other aspects of life there are 12 months in a year and it’s interesting that within that are four seasons with three months each. 4 x 3 = 12. There are 12 signs of the Zodiac, the Sumerian number system was based on 12 & 60, there are 12 months in the Jewish calendar, 12 in a dozen, 12 inches in a foot, most people have 12 ribs, there are 12 systems in the body if you count the circulatory system that augments the cardiovascular system, and the list goes on.

So, how does this sacred number integrate with us? Well, everything that we know is in a constant state of vibration. All things are in constant motion. The Universe vibrates at 432 Hz. The Earth at 7.83 Hz and people mostly at 7.5Hz although the range is 3 – 17 Hz. Some theorize that in the last few years human Hz rates have increased up to 25 Hz. And, wouldn’t it figure that the most dangerous vibration for mankind is 7Hz. Every thing around us, whether it seems solid and immobile or not has vibration. And, vibration is energy. Whether we realize it or not, we interact with the Universe and everything within it through the energy of vibration.

Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras determined that each planet in our solar system has it’s own vibration and therefore sound. He referenced this sound to music with each planet’s motion sounding like one of the 12 notes in music, (the white notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B & the black notes: C-sharp, D-sharp, F-sharp, G-sharp, A-sharp if ascending the scale. If one is descending the scale the black notes become: B-flat, A-flat, G-flat, E-flat, and D-flat).

The Universe is known to be a musical production of vibration. Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku based his String Theory on the harmony of vibrating strings. Albert Einstein said, “Cosmic music resonating through space is the mind of God.”

Regardless if we realize it or not, everything and everyone around us affects us emotionally, physically, and spiritually throughout our daily lives. Just as all of us don’t like the same music, same colors, same clothing, same people, etc. it’s more likely than not because everyone of us needs to be ‘in-sync’ with things surrounding us to feel good on all levels. The more we understand how things around us can make a difference in our lives the better chance we have to change them.

White or Black Magick?

White magick is good, black magick is evil. Really? I don’t know who decided that magick should be defined by the terms white or black, but do have to think it may have been someone employing the craft to get something they wanted and then feeling guilty for doing it.

There is no such thing as white or black magick. Magick is magick. Magick doesn’t care what intention the user has. It works the same way for anyone employing its power. Some practitioners might have purer reasons than others, but it isn’t the magick that’s good or not so good. That onus is on the one using it.

The one catalyst that effectuates results in magick is will. Intention will see results if the will is strong enough.

There’s an interesting consequence of designating magical practices either white or black. The usual tools of rituals and spells have become biased also. Historically, candles, crystals, herbs, pentagrams, stones, and the like are part of the spell-casting process. Now, if black candles are used they must mean one is invoking negativity or the devil. Only white candles are a symbol of purity. And one should make sure to only use the favored herbs and stones of those on the so called white side.

And pentagrams! One of the first thoughts that comes to the minds of most is that the pentacle represents Satan. Wiccans will point out that the use of the five-sided star is fine as long as it has only one point upright. Otherwise, two points up would indicate the horns of the evil one. My question is, Why? Horns have always symbolized wisdom.

Pentacles have become one of the most maligned symbols in use today. They once were considered sacred. The Catholic church was one of the first to use them as such. Pentagrams are interesting and far from representing the Prince of Darkness.

The pentagram is known as a star polygon and ultimately it’s measurements equal 1.618 or phi, which also equals the Golden Ratio. The Golden Ratio is a line that is divided into two parts.  The long part divided by he short part equals the entire length divided by the long part. 

The Fibonacci Sequence will also converge on the Golden Ratio. In the Fibonacci Sequence, which is 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc., each number is the sum of the two previous numbers.

While these two functions seem diverse, the Fibonacci Sequence will converge on the Golden Ratio – it will produce 1.618.

The Golden Ratio is also called the Divine Proportion. It is ubiquitous in nature and also found in science, the arts, and mathematics. The idea of associating the pentagram with Satan lacks reason and rests only on a manufactured paradigm.

Over years, Hollywood and other media, and some religious groups have portrayed magick, witchcraft, meditation tools such as tarot and astrology, paranormal occurrences, and other like interests, something to be wary of and basically evil. There’s still a lot of interest in these things though, as evidenced by the many tv shows and movies on them available to the public every day. The problem with a lot of these programs is they generally adhere to the idle belief that pentagrams, black candles, ouija boards, people getting three scratches, etc. prove something evil is happening. Again, according to whom? Where do these tenets come from? Probably the same people or organizations that attempt to manipulate and control people into conforming to their own belief systems.

I am not saying that dark things don’t occur. They can and do at times. But bad things can happen with bouquets of pretty flowers, white clothing, and hearts and smiley faces, just as easily as not.

Tools of both ritual and spell work hold neither good nor evil energy within themselves. The energy that infuses them is the energy coming from the person / persons using them. White isn’t pure, black isn’t evil, and pentagrams are mathematically interesting.

Are Pentagrams Good or Evil?

Is the pentagram good or evil?  What a question!  It’s neither.  The pentangle is a symbol, a philosophy, a mathematical theory, and a tool.  From ancient times the pentagram has been used to better understand the Universe and man’s place within it.  Pythagoras used it to represent man.  DaVinci expanded upon his theory.  http://leonardodavinci.stanford.edu/submissions/clabaugh/history/leonardo.html

The number five has represented the five elements:  air, earth, water, fire, and aethyr (spirit).  Five represents the path Venus makes on her trip around the sky: https://johncarlosbaez.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/the-pentagram-of-venus/ .

The five-pointed star has been used for millennia on flags, on buildings, in cities, (i.e. Washington, D.C.), and even worn by early Christians to protect themselves against evil.  And yes – it’s used in ceremonial rituals and ceremonial magick.

When used in a mystical sense, the attitude that it is infused in the process is what matters – not the star’s orientation.  Point up or down makes no bit of difference one way or another.  One point up, two points up….really?  What fluff.  Point reference was started in the mid-19th century by a self-proclaimed, jealous, closed-minded magician who called himself Eliphas Levi.  His real name is Alphonse Louis Constant.  Mr. Levi / Constant was a Catholic, very dedicated to the church, who in his later years disavowed magic.  He perhaps came to his writings and teachings with a prejudiced inclination.  The pentagram as evil is really a 19th century folly.

People, usually enthralled with the concept of evil, for whatever reasons, were intrigued.  And, Hollywood, wanting to make money off these strong emotions, started producing films to build up the fenzy and make more money.  That brings us to Anton LeVey  and his Church of Satan.  LeVey, born Howard Stanton LeVey, jumped on the bandwagon seeing an opportunity to promote himself and make some bucks.  LeVey was always a showman, working from an early age in the circus and carnivals.  He was a gifted musician and a good businessman.  He was intelligent and had great marketing skills.

LeVey didn’t believe in Satan and he didn’t much care for what he considered the hypocrasy of humankind.  Go to bars and brothels during the week and then make a showing at church on Sunday.  In his teachings, LeVey promoted self-confidence and gave people the feeling of personal empowerment.  Who doesn’t want that?  He had some good thoughts on the subject, too.  Read his Nine Satanic Statements….not to shabby and nothing evil.

So, is the pentagram good or evil?  It’s entirely up to you.  What do you put into it?  If it’s good thoughts, it’s from within you.  If it’s evil — maybe you are, too.  Just remember the law of three.  What you wish for someone else is what you’ll get back times three.  That’s just the Universal Law of Reciprocity.
